ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS AND PROCEDURE IN ROMANIA

 

University admission Requirements

 

Passport: travelling document

To apply to Romanian studies, a valid passport is mandatory.  Its copy must be submitted along with application form and other required documents.

High school diploma and minimum age:

Having High school diploma (also culled baccalaureate, leaving diploma etc) or equivalent , giving access to university studies in issuing country is a must to apply to studies in Romania. This means that the prospective student have completed 12th Grade in the US/Canada and elsewhere. In the UK he can be in the process of completing your A-levels. He  must be at least 17 years old.

Self finance

Tuition fees  and living cost  during your stay in Romania: you must have your own form of financing your studies by own good economy, student loans, wonderful parents or generous sponsors or by other appropriate ways.
For those seeking for Romanian finance assistance, they must contact the Romanian diplomatic representative in their countries or the representative of their county in Romania.

Good health

Applicants to study in Romania must be in good health (without contagious diseases  or diseases  which is not compatible with the future profession)  and display good social behavior and ability to integrate into a mature studying environment as well as interact with people of all colors and nationalities.

Admission requirements and procedure to study in Romania differ according to the nationality of the students and are grouped in two categories: students from EU, EEA an Swiss confederation and student from other countries.

Studies recognition (equivalence)

Aadmission requirements and procedure to study in Romania for  students from an EU, EEA country and the Swiss Confederation: they have to have the diploma recognised (diplomas and certificates) by the National Centre for Recognition and Equivalence of Diplomas in Romania (CREDR).  After receiving the attestation of recognition studies, then they have to submit it with all required documents for admission to the university of their choice.

Required documents for studies recognition:

  1. Application for recognition required for acceptance to studies;
  2. A certifiedcopy of  secondary-school leaving certificate or another certificate proving that the applicant is entitled to embark upon studies at any type of university;
  3. A certified copy of Higher Education diploma and transcript for admission to Master or PhD studies;
  4. A copy of valid passport (pages 1, 2, 3, 4);
  5. Copy of the receipt for the  recognition fee;

All mentioned above copies of documents must be in English, French or Romanian, otherwise, they must be accompanied by certified cpoies in one of those languages.

  • Sweden: Swedish citizens must provide a certificate from VHS (Verket for  Hogskoleservice - Swedish National Agency for Higher Education), stating that the applicant meets the general requirements to apply to Swedish  universities ( that his respective Slutbetyg grants access to higher education studies);           
  • Spain: High-school diplomas obtained in Spain should be accompanied by a Certificate "Pruebas de Aptitud para el Acceso a la Universidad, calificación Apto" stating that the holder of the diploma has the right to pursue higher education studies.
  • Portugal: High-school diplomas obtained in Portugal should be accompanied by a Certificate issued by Direçcao Geral de Ensino Superior stating that the holder of the diploma has the right to pursue higher education studies
  • Greece, Cyprus, Italy, Portugal and Spain: Applicants from those EU countries have to present  the high school  Certificate (baccalaureate diploma or an equivalent diploma) with the Apostille of Hague;
  • Other countries: Applicants from other countries of the European Union, except the ones mentioned above,  need to have an extra authentication from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and  from The Romanian Embassy/ Consulate in their country. Also some universities accept copy of documents certified by public notary or with the apostille of Hague;
  • Romania: Romanian citizens are allowed to apply for the English program, under the same conditions provided by law for EU citizens, including tuition fees;

Required documents for admission in Romanian university:

  1. Application form  for diploma recognation (EU, EEA or Suisse applicant) - 2 copies;
  2. Certified copy of the Baccalaureate Diploma or equivalent - for undergraduate studies;
  3. Certified copy of the graduation certificate - for postgraduate (Master) applicants or PhD;
  4. Certifioed copy of academic record translated into Romanian, English, French or Germany;
  5. Certified copy of the Birth Certificate;
  6. A medical certificate specifying that the candidate does not have any contagious  diseases or any other diseases incompatible with the medical profession and so prove the applicant's state health;
  7. Certified copy of Passport;
  8. A statement given on the candidate's own responsibility specifying that his/her high  school leaving diploma (Baccalaureate diploma) enables him/her to apply in the issuing country for Bachelor's degree studies.
  9. Language certificate, except the applicants from the countries where the official language is the  language is the language of instruction . Note that this certificate can be obtained from the university after passing successfully a test before the enrolment.

Non- EU, EEA and Swiss students:

 

As admission requirements and procedure to study in Romania, students from  non - EU, EEA countries and the Swiss Confederation have  have first to submit the application form along with all required documents to the university. The university issue the acceptance (admission ) letter  which has to be approved by the Ministry of Education.

The studies recognition is done on the arrival of students in Romania by presenting the original document to the Ministry of education.

Students from non-EU, EEA and Swiss submit the following documents:

  1. Application form for admission; pdf version  - 2 copies;
  2. Certified copy of the Baccalaureate Diploma or equivalent - for undergraduate studies;
  3. Certified copy of the graduation certificate - for postgraduate (Master) applicants or PhD;
  4. Certified copy of academic record translated into Romanian, English or French ;
  5. Certified copy of the Birth Certificate;
  6. A medical certificate specifying that the candidate does not have any contagious  diseases or any other diseases incompatible with the medical profession;
  7. Certified copy of Passport;

Remarques:

Along with above mentioned documents, you are advice to prepare your  CV,  latter of recommendation, certificates or attestations attesting your experience in the domains you are applying for and other documents you thing can confort your demande.

Note that a language certificate  will exempt you from passing the language test before starting your studies in international languages.

The application form should be completed and scanned alongside the others hereby mentioned documents . The foreign students who need  the assistance  should e-mailed all documents to Romanian study admission center.  Applicants should confirm their courses, Language of study and University before emailing them.

As soon as we receive your application form, we will do the rest up to when we get your official admission latter from your chosen university  and approved by the Ministry of Education, Research, Youth and Sports  of Romania.

A scanned letter of acceptance will be sent to applicants immediately after confirmation of admission. The letter of acceptance will be mailed to the applicant after we receive the hole amount of application fee.
